As a busy mom, I have to be low maintenance, but I still like to look good. Know what I mean?
I love the way something as simple as a swipe of lipstick can brighten up your face. But wearing a lip color that needs to be applied over and over again throughout the day? Who has time for that?! This is why I got interested in checking out some lipsticks like Lipsense.
Are There Cheaper Alternatives to Lipsense?
After some searching, I’m happy to report I found several awesome Lipsense alternatives on the market. Here are my top picks:
Lipsense Alternative | How Long It Lasts | Features | Current Price | Amazon Link |
---|---|---|---|---|
Maybelline Superstay | 24 | Most Popular | $8.98 | |
Revlon ColorStay | 16 | Best Shine | $8.05 | |
Rimmell Provocalips | 16 | Great Value | $4.49 |
- Most Popular: Maybelline Superstay Lipstick (See Maybelline Superstay at Amazon.com)
- Best Shine: Revlon Colorstay (See Revlon Longwearing Lipstick at Amazon.com)
- Most Affordable: Rimmel Kissproof Lipstick (See Rimmel 16 hour lipstick at Amazon.com)
Here is a quick comparison chart of the options:
What is Lipsense?
I’m so glad you asked! Lipsense is a lipstick/lip stain product sold through the company SeneGence. Lipsense has been growing in popularity for the last couple of years and has become primarily known for its long-lasting color capabilities.
That’s right ladies – no need to re-apply! Senegence makes the promise that their lipstick will not “kiss off, smudge off, or budge off”. Sounds perfect for a busy mom!
This lipstick comes with a pretty hefty price tag (especially for something that may get lost in the bottom of your purse for weeks at a time!). This got me wondering if there are other Lipsense alternatives out there with the same long-lasting color.
Lipsense lipstick is known for having:
- Long-lasting, true color
- No bleeding
- Lip stain with an accompanying gloss
How Much Does Lipsense Cost?
Lipsense costs $25 for one tube of Lipsense color and $20 for one tube of Lipsense gloss. Both of these parts are necessary in order to be able to use it, so it costs a minimum of $45 to get started. They also sell a lip color remover for an additional $10.
Is Lipsense Worth the Money?
From what I can tell, all of these other lipsticks like Lipsense are very similar. Ladies bragged about the long-lasting color and lack of smudging. There was no need to re-apply over periods of hours.
All the details from these Lipsense knockoffs are almost identical to the qualities that make Lipsense stand out. Since these lipsticks are around 7x cheaper than Lipsense, they certainly seem worth a try!
For those who have tried Lipsense, what do you think? Is Lipsense worth it?
Most Popular Dupe for Lipsense: Maybelline Superstay
While all of these brands are very similar, Maybelline is a top selling lipstick at Amazon.com. This tells me that Maybelline is doing something right! (See Maybelline 24 hr Lipstick at Amazon.com)
- No need to re-apply
- Color stay boasting up to 24 hours
- Wide variety of shade options
- Micro-Flex technolodgy keeping color bold and bright
- Feels good on lips
- Very reasonable price
- Issues with color formulas being inconsistent
- Doesn’t always apply evenly
- Amount of product in tube seems to vary
Lipsense Alternative with The Most Shine: Revlon Colorstay
The Revlon lipstick has the same color stay as the rest of these, but it boasts a shine like no other. I personally love a good shine! (See Revlon Colorstay Lipcolor at Amazon.com)
- High-shine top coat
- Contains vitamin E for comfortable moisture
- Doesn’t bleed or feather
- Up to 16 hours of lasting color
- Very reasonable price
- Issues with color formulas being inconsistent
- Extra moisture may feel sticky on lips
Least Expensive Lipstick like Lipsense: Rimmel Provocalips
Rimmel is comparable with its competitors in all categories and it’s your best value! Rimmel Provocalips is the lipsense knockoff with the least expensive price tag. (See Rimmel Kissproof Lipstick at Amazon.com)
- Lightweight formula
- 16 hours of color
- Easy application
- Least expensive Lipsense alternative
- Issues with color formulas being inconsistent
- Must use makeup remover to remove
Are these Lipsense Knock-offs?
Lipsense knock-offs would be lipsticks that are made to look exactly like Lipsense, complete with fake brand labels. True knock-offs are illegal.
These aren’t Lipsense knock-offs, they’re just other brands of long-lasting lip color that are similar to Lipsense in many ways.
Have You Tried Any of These Lipsense Alternatives?
I’d love to hear your experiences in the comments below! Have you tried any of these Lipsense Alternatives? Were they any good?

My mom used to tell me I should be a tester for lipstick companies because I somehow could get lipsticks off my lips quicker than any companies claim! Then I came across Lipsense and I am sold! I kept it on miraculously! Just as it claimed, I love the color combinations & all the pretty glosses, and the ingredients. Unfortunately, the price tag is too expensive for my budget. That is the only downfall for me. I have tried the cheaper alternatives but they didn't last as pretty as SeneGenses' lipsense did. Sadly, they will have to do for every day and save my lipsense for special occasions.
